1. Who we are. The MLD Register is a trading name of Truly Empowered Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11904082, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us", "the register"). These terms, together with the Code of Conduct, the Badge Terms of Use, the Verification Standard and the Privacy Policy, form the agreement between us and each member.
2. What membership is. One individual standard membership in The MLD Register includes a published profile after verification, the member badge, profile editing, direct enquiries and activity reporting. It is a listing and verification service, not insurance, a qualification, clinical endorsement or a guarantee of enquiries or search rankings. A separately agreed contributor waiver applies to this directory only and requires the member's acceptance.
3. Eligibility and verification. Membership is open to practitioners who hold an MLD training certificate from a recognised school and current professional insurance covering their MLD practice, as set out in the Verification Standard. You must provide accurate information and genuine documents. We verify before your profile is published, and we may re-verify at any time. Dishonesty in an application is grounds for removal without refund beyond statutory rights.
4. Application outcome. Supply the required information within the recorded 14-day reservation period. Time awaiting our review does not forfeit a completed reservation. We explain missing or unclear evidence and allow 14 days to resolve it. An unsuccessful application is closed without a membership charge. Any payment taken in error receives operator refund review.
5. Free period and term. Ordinary founders receive six calendar months free, followed by £10 monthly including VAT. Later members receive three calendar months free, followed by £15 monthly including VAT. The free period begins when the approved, member-confirmed profile is public, at or after actual public launch. The precise first-payment date is recorded in your account in Europe/London time. There is no joining fee. Existing agreements are not automatically replaced by this offer.
6. Fees and founding price lock. The founding limit is 150 places shared across the UK and US, ending 16 October 2026 or when those places fill. The founder's total £10 monthly price, including VAT, is protected while standard membership continues. Ordinary improvements to the core service remain included. Seven-day payment recovery, platform errors and approved administrative pauses preserve protection. Voluntary cancellation ends protection. A contributor waiver requires no card and generates no subscription revenue; it is not an ordinary founding place.
7. Monthly billing, reminders and cancellation. You explicitly authorise automatic monthly card payments when accepting your offer. Saving a card is not a payment. We confirm the first-payment date and send reminders 14 and 3 days before it. If a required notice fails, is late or has an uncertain sending outcome, the first charge is held until resolved and a fresh 14-day notice period is provided without a catch-up charge. Cancel online from Membership before the first charge to pay nothing, or before a later renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals and retains access through the recorded free or paid period unless you choose immediate removal. Any payment already in progress is reviewed.
8. Contractual cancellation and refunds.
- Your free period: cancel online from Membership before your recorded first-payment date and no membership payment is taken.
- Your first monthly charge: you may cancel within 14 days of your first membership charge for a full refund of that charge, no reason needed. Email hello@themldregister.com to request the refund; refunds go to the original payment method within 14 days.
- Later monthly charges: cancelling stops future charges; your membership runs to the end of its paid month. Charges taken in error are refunded in full.
- Declined applications: closed without a membership charge; any payment taken in error receives operator refund review (clause 4).
- Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
9. Your obligations. You agree to: comply with the Code of Conduct and Badge Terms of Use; keep your profile accurate; maintain current insurance throughout membership and supply updated documents when requested; and tell us promptly about notifiable events (Code of Conduct clause 15).
10. Failed payment. A failed payment receives seven days to recover, with the existing price protected. Update the card in your account; a saved card is not proof that the payment succeeded. If the invoice remains unpaid when recovery ends, the profile is hidden and future billing is stopped. A later return must be explicitly reviewed and authorised.
11. Suspension and removal. We may hide or remove a profile where required by evidence checks or the Complaints Procedure. An approved administrative pause saves unused free time, preserves the founder price and stops future billing. Any interruption to already-paid time receives operator credit review. Return requires current evidence and the member's confirmation of the revised payment date; billing does not restart merely because an operator changes a status.
12. Our service standards. We aim to review applications within a few working days, deliver enquiries promptly, and keep the register online continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance will be brief and, where possible, notified.
13. Liability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to a member in any 12-month period is limited to the fees paid in that period, and we are not liable for loss of profits, loss of business or indirect losses. We are not a party to any arrangement between a member and a client.
14. Data. How we handle your data, including your uploaded documents, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect; if you do not accept a material change, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your current term.
16. Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (or those of your home nation in the UK where consumer law so provides).
17. Featured Placement. Featured is an optional £10 monthly add-on including VAT. Your accepted offer shows the combined total: £20 for founding membership with Featured, or £25 for standard membership with Featured. A reserved position goes live with your approved, confirmed public profile, and has the same six-calendar-month founding or three-calendar-month standard free period. Both charges begin together afterwards, with the same payment reminders. Featured gives priority visibility within relevant searches and a Featured label, subject to the local position limit. It does not indicate higher verification or clinical endorsement. One position covers your designated primary practice area; a change of area requires an availability check. You can remove Featured online without ending membership or losing its protected founding price. Future add-on billing stops and already-paid Featured time continues to its recorded end. Featured depends on continuing membership. Its price is separate from the founding membership price protection. Existing Featured agreements retain their recorded terms.
18. Referral thank-you. A member may share a personal referral link. A new member who joins through it is quoted one extra free calendar month on top of the offer of the day, stated in the offer they authorise. Fourteen days after that new member's profile goes live, provided they have not cancelled in the meantime, the referring member receives one free month of membership: their free period is extended by one calendar month, or their next membership payment is not charged. Featured Placement is charged as normal. The thank-you is not paid in cash, is not given for a returning member's re-application, requires the referring member to be an active member when it falls due, and is withdrawn if either membership is cancelled first. We may end the referral thank-you on notice; months already earned stand.
19. Members practising in the United States. This clause applies where your practice address is in the United States. Where it says something different from clauses 2 to 17, this clause is what applies to you. Prices are in US dollars and no VAT is charged, so the pound prices and VAT wording elsewhere in these terms apply to members in the UK only. Current US prices, including Featured Placement, are on our US pricing page.
19.1 The founding offer. Founding Membership is six months free, then $19 a month while your membership stays continuously active. There are 150 founding places, shared across the UK and US. A founding place is open to therapists who submit an application by 16 October 2026, while places remain, and verification can be completed after that date.
19.2 Applying. Submitting an application takes no payment. Your card details are saved securely by Stripe for later use, and nothing is charged until your free period ends. Please add your practice details and documents within 30 days of applying. If they do not arrive, or if we explain a problem with your evidence and it is not resolved within 14 days, your reserved place is released and nothing is charged. You can withdraw at any time before your profile is published by replying to any of our emails, and nothing is charged.
19.3 When billing begins. Your profile is published only after we have verified and accepted your application and your profile has been approved for publication: at public launch, or on approval once the register is live. Your free period starts on the day your profile is published, and your first monthly payment is taken when it ends. By saving your card you authorise us to take that payment and to continue billing monthly, on the same day each month, until you cancel. Your dashboard always shows your next payment date, and we email you 14 days and 3 days before your first payment.
19.4 Cancelling and refunds. Once your profile is live you can cancel at any time from your dashboard's Billing page. Cancel before your first payment and nothing is charged. You may cancel within 14 days of your first monthly payment for a full refund of that payment, no reason needed: email hello@themldregister.com and the refund goes to your original payment method within 14 days. For later monthly payments, cancelling stops future charges and your membership runs to the end of its paid month. Charges taken in error are refunded in full. Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.
19.5 Failed payments. If a monthly payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days, your membership lapses: your profile is removed from public view, your badge stops displaying, and your registration is shown as lapsed. You can update your card at any time from your dashboard's Billing page. You can rejoin later with current documents.
19.6 Featured Placement. Featured Placement is an optional monthly add-on at the published US price, not a membership tier. If you reserved it, it is free for the same period as your membership and is then billed monthly with your membership. It gives priority visibility within relevant searches and a Featured label, subject to the local position limit, and does not indicate a higher level of verification or clinical endorsement. You can remove it from your dashboard without ending your membership. Featured Placement depends on continuing membership.
19.7 Everything else. The rest of these terms, including the Code of Conduct, the Badge Terms of Use, the Verification Standard, our right to re-verify, and clause 16 on governing law, applies to you as written.
