About Claire

I have supported people with postoperative swelling for eleven years, including clients recovering from liposuction, abdominoplasty and reconstructive surgery. I work within the timing and aftercare guidance provided by each client's medical team.

I also see clients living with lipoedema and lymphoedema for ongoing management, and I am happy to work alongside your consultant or lymphoedema nurse.

Qualified 2014 · Background: Sports massage therapist

What Claire can help with

Based on their training and stated experience. MLD is used alongside medical care, not instead of it. Always follow the advice of your medical team.

  • Post-op recovery
  • Lipoedema
  • Lymphoedema
  • Cancer-related swelling
  • General wellbeing

Example profile. Illustrative therapist.

  1. Recognised training and current insurance, independently reviewed. Both documents are reviewed by a person before your profile is published.

  2. Searches led by procedure and condition. Patients seeking postoperative support can narrow their search by the specific surgery they have undergone.

  3. A live badge, linked to your profile. Patients can confirm your current registration status from your own website at any time.

Help patients understand why you are the right fit

Patients seeking MLD are rarely comparing distance alone. They want to understand whether a therapist's training is relevant to their needs, whether their professional insurance is current, which conditions or procedures they support, what they charge, whether home visits are available and what previous patients have said.

Whether your work centres on postoperative care following cosmetic, reconstructive or medically indicated surgery, lymphoedema, lipoedema, swelling following cancer treatment or general MLD, your profile is structured around the reason a patient is seeking support.

What a patient can filter by
  • Post-op recovery
  • Lipoedema
  • Lymphoedema
  • Cancer-related swelling
  • General wellbeing

They can also filter by home visits, fees and the treatments you offer.

Patients searching after surgery can narrow it to the procedure. Every one of these is a filter: General liposuction BBL Lipoedema liposuction Tummy tuck Mummy makeover Body lift Gynaecomastia surgery Breast surgery Vascular surgery Orthopaedic surgery Facelift

What membership includes

Recognised training and current insurance, independently reviewed

Every applicant provides evidence of recognised MLD training and current professional insurance appropriate to the services they declare. Both documents are reviewed by a person before publication. You also receive an individual registration number and a membership certificate.

A dedicated profile and location presence

Your photograph, professional biography, recognised training, practice locations, fees, home-visit availability, areas of work, website and booking link sit together in one coherent place, with an individual profile URL and a listing on the relevant town pages.

Procedure- and condition-led patient searches

Your profile can appear within the search pathways relevant to your work, including postoperative MLD, lymphoedema, lipoedema, swelling following cancer treatment and general MLD. Qualification-led categories follow the training evidence we review; specific surgeries are shown as therapist-reported experience.

A live MLD Register badge

A verification badge for your website and email signature, linked directly to your live profile. Because it is served live, it ceases to show active status if your membership lapses, your profile is suspended or the insurance document held by the Register is no longer current.

Patient reviews and direct enquiries

Your live Google rating and the client reviews collected through the included Review system can be displayed together, with the source of each review clearly identified. Enquiries reach you directly, with no commission taken on enquiries or bookings.

Your dashboard, reminders and revalidation

Update your profile, manage documents, view enquiries and profile activity, and manage billing and renewal from your dashboard. Reminders follow your own insurance expiry and refresher dates, and an accepted refresher completed within the previous 24 months shows a Revalidated status on your profile.

How The MLD Register helps patients find you

Being listed only has value if the right patients can find you. We work continuously to build the visibility of the register and connect patients with verified therapists.

  • Local discovery. Town and area pages help people searching for MLD support near them find suitable therapists nearby.
  • Search optimisation. The register, therapist profiles and location pages are structured around the searches patients actually make.
  • AI visibility. Profiles and content are structured so AI assistants can understand the register and identify relevant qualified therapists.
  • Patient-focused content. Useful guides answer the questions patients are already searching for and direct them towards relevant therapists.
  • Professional referrals. We build awareness of the register across the lymphatic, surgical and wider healthcare community.
  • Ongoing promotion. Social media, outreach, partnerships, PR and awareness campaigns help bring new patients to the register.
  • Designed to generate enquiries. Detailed verified profiles help patients compare therapists, build confidence and choose who to contact.
  • A growing network. Every member profile and Verified MLD Therapist badge increases the register's visibility, authority and recognition.

Let patients verify your status from your own website

A static logo can remain on a website long after the circumstances behind it have changed. The MLD Register badge is different.

The live MLD Register badge

It is linked directly to the therapist's current Register profile and served by The MLD Register. If the registration is no longer active, the badge changes automatically and no longer presents the therapist as currently registered.

This live connection is what gives the badge meaning: patients are not simply being shown a claim; they are being given a way to confirm it.

Your membership certificate

The downloadable membership certificate provides a complementary physical record for the treatment room or professional files. Printed use of the badge should always be accompanied by the therapist's registration number so that current status can be checked.

Specimen shown. Your own badge carries your registration number, and its wording follows what you tell us you do: therapists who state postoperative work carry the wording shown here. Your certificate carries your name, your registration number and your verification date.

How joining works

1. Apply and reserve your place

Create your secure member account as a Founding Member and securely enter your card details with Stripe. Nothing is charged today. Your founding place and monthly rate are reserved, subject to successful verification.

2. Tell us about your practice

Answer a few short questions and upload your recognised MLD training certificate and current professional insurance schedule through the secure dashboard. A person reviews your application against the published Verification Standard. We aim to review complete applications within a few working days, then prepare your profile and draft your professional bio.

3. Review and approve

6 calendar months free, then £10 a month including VAT. Your free period begins when your approved, confirmed profile is public after launch. We confirm the exact first-payment date and send reminders 14 and 3 days beforehand.

If anything needs clarification, we explain exactly what is needed and give you 14 days to resolve it. If it cannot be resolved, or your documents do not arrive within 14 days, your reserved place is simply released and nothing is charged.

Independent by design

The MLD Register is not owned by a training school, insurer or professional body, which preserves an independent standard for therapists and patients alike. It is owned and operated by Truly Empowered Ltd, the company behind Therapy Webgenie and VerifiedPractitioner, and funded through published membership fees. Every therapist must meet the same published Verification Standard before being listed.

Each profile brings reviewed training and current insurance together with fees, reviews, home visits and therapist-reported procedure experience, helping patients compare their options with confidence and contact you directly.

Featured placement changes visibility only. It does not alter what is reviewed, confer a higher verification status or imply greater clinical ability.

What we verify

Independently reviewed

Recognised postoperative MLD training and current professional insurance, checked by a person against the published standard before your profile goes live.

Therapist-reported

Specific surgeries and postoperative procedures, fees, home visits, practice locations and your professional biography. You are required to keep these accurate under the Code of Conduct.

Not assessed

Clinical competence, treatment quality and patient outcomes. Verification relates to the documents reviewed, and patient reviews remain separate from it, with their source clearly identified.

Membership of The MLD Register cannot guarantee patient enquiries, search-engine rankings or inclusion within AI-generated results.

Frequently asked questions

Which training programmes are accepted?

The Register accepts defined qualifications from recognised MLD schools and specifically accepted specialist programmes. The full list and the criteria used are published within the Verification Standard. Recognition is programme-specific. Acceptance of one programme does not mean that every course delivered by the same provider is accepted.

My original MLD certificate is several years old. Can I still apply?

Yes. An accepted original qualification does not expire solely because of its age. The separate Revalidated status is available where an accepted refresher, review or update has been completed within the previous 24 months.

My practice is principally postoperative rather than lymphoedema-focused. Is the Register relevant to me?

Yes. Patients can search by the particular surgery or postoperative procedure they have undergone, including procedures undertaken for cosmetic, reconstructive or medically indicated reasons. Your recognised training is displayed separately from the procedure-specific experience you report, and we do not independently audit caseload numbers, years of experience or treatment outcomes.

What happens to the documents I upload?

Training and insurance documents are stored securely and are not displayed publicly. Access is limited to the people responsible for verification. The public profile displays the outcome and relevant details of the review rather than the underlying documents. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

What happens if my insurance document expires?

The Register issues reminders in advance of the recorded expiry date. Where a replacement document is not supplied, the public profile is suspended and the live badge ceases to display active status until current insurance has been reviewed.

What happens if my application cannot be accepted?

We explain the reason clearly and allow 14 days for missing or clarifying evidence to be supplied. If the matter cannot be resolved, the application is closed and your reserved place is released. Nothing has been charged, and nothing ever is.

Who operates The MLD Register?

The MLD Register is owned and operated by Truly Empowered Ltd, the company behind Therapy Webgenie and VerifiedPractitioner. The company brings more than 20 years' sector experience empowering therapists and health professionals. The MLD Register is independently owned and is not affiliated with or endorsed by a training school, insurer, professional body, charity or the NHS. The longer story is on our About page.
