Born from first-hand family experience

The register we needed. Created for others. Built with two decades of sector expertise.

The MLD Register was born from first-hand experience within our family, reinforced by the experiences of others close to us. When specialist postoperative MLD was needed, identifying an appropriately qualified and independently verified therapist with clear, procedure-specific information, recognised training, professional insurance and reviews proved far more difficult than it should have been.

At a time when greater clarity mattered, essential information was fragmented across multiple places or difficult to establish: whether a therapist had completed recognised MLD and specialist postoperative training; whether their training and current professional insurance had been independently verified; which specific surgeries and postoperative procedures they reported experience supporting; and how their fees, home-visit availability and patient reviews compared.

Drawing on more than 20 years' sector experience empowering therapists and health professionals, we created the independent register we needed ourselves - and the standard we believed should exist.

The MLD Register brings independently verified training and insurance details together with therapist-reported procedure experience, practical information and patient reviews in one considered place - giving patients greater clarity when deciding who to contact.

Built on established sector experience

The MLD Register is owned and operated by Truly Empowered Ltd, the company behind Therapy Webgenie and VerifiedPractitioner. For more than 20 years, its work has focused on empowering therapists and health professionals through specialist digital platforms and services.

Independent by design

The MLD Register is not owned by a training school, insurer or professional body. Recognised certificates are accepted because they meet the Register's published training criteria - not because of a commercial or ownership relationship with the organisations that issue them.

Verification, clearly defined

The MLD Register independently reviews specified training and current professional insurance documentation before a therapist is listed, with verification information displayed on their profile. Verification relates to the documents reviewed; it is not an assessment or guarantee of clinical competence, treatment quality or patient outcomes. A transparent model

The MLD Register is funded through published therapist membership fees. It does not charge patients to search, take commission on patient bookings or sell patient data. Any paid or featured placement is clearly identified.

Our commitment to patients

Searching The MLD Register, viewing therapist profiles and using the Check a Therapist tool are free for patients. The Register is designed to support a more informed search, not to replace assessment, advice or aftercare guidance from a surgeon, GP or medical team.

The standards governing membership, verification, professional conduct, complaints and the use of patient information are published in full.
